Opening Pre-built Cubes in Excel

[Table of Contents]

Immediately after your cube has been built, you have the opportunity of being able to open it in Excel, by clicking the Open in Excel button which become enabled.

If however, you have a cube stored which hasn't just been built and you still want to be able to open it in Excel, you can open it from within CUBE-oit Zero. The option is available from the "Cube" menu, and is "Open a Pre-built Cube in Excel".

Click the menu option and the following dialog will appear

By default, the Analysis Server name you specified when you setup CUBE-it Zero will be autoatically entered into the "Analysis Server Name" text box. Also, the list of databases and cubes on that server will be entered into the drop lists, and the first one in each list selected automatically.

If you change the Server Name, the database and cubelist will be updated automatically, if this does not happen then simply click the Database list refresh button

This will refresh both the Analysis Database list and the Cube Name list.

Select the Cube Database, where the cube resides that you want to load, then select the cube you want to open.

Once you have selected, your database and cube click the "OK" button to open the selected cube in Excel.
