[Table of Contents]

The CUBE-it Zero main screen guides you through the process of building a cube indicating the current progress made.

After entering the Settings the main screen is displayed as follows:

The 4 stages of building a cube are discussed in the Product Overview in the Getting Started section. More information on each individual stage is provided in Reference topics. After entering the Settings CUBE-it Zero checks they are valid, i.e. the username/password combination does allow connection to the specified SQL Server database. As such, the "Connect to the source of the data" is shown as valid, highlighted in green.

There are 5 possible status messages that will appear alongside each stage. They are:

    • Valid - the stage has been completed and CUBE-it Zero has validated it, e.g. the syntax of a data source query
    • Complete - only used in the final option the show the cube has been successfully built. See below for more information
    • Invalid - the stage has been completed but there are problems, e.g. the tables/columns used in a data source query do not exist or are incorrectly spelled
    • Incomplete - the stage has not yet been completed
    • Unknown - CUBE-it Zero is unable to determine the status, e.g. the status of the source query cannot be determined if the connection is invalid

Once the first 3 stages are complete and valid, the final 4th option is displayed. This is a button labelled "Process the cube". Once this has been clicked and the cube successfully built the stage will be marked as Complete as show below:
